The Challenge

Having met Brett out the front of our new office in 2006, our brief was to re-brand and re-launch the company as a professional, high quality supplier of natural stone products. A large part of this was the requirement to launch the company into Perth and achieve growth in sales and market share. The first element thebox considered was the company’s brand. A new brand icon and the corporate styling was designed to reposition the company and create a projection allowing it to move into the Perth metro market with impact and longevity.

The Idea

Creating a new branding requires designers to be mindful of the company’s market, its product and its personality. We wanted to create the strength of stone and the company’s passion and detailed quality within the brand and its projection. We covered this by use of colour and design presence. The idea was to create a brand with real strength while edging the brand’s essence to project care and quality. By the use of a lower case, friendly typeface and originally utilising a dark green background, we achieved a harmonic balance which was used in continuity with the theming.

The Solution

Jack in the box has worked with Rural Stone for a number of years now and provided a range of solutions in that time. The evolution of the corporate style in 2010 saw the brand take a further leap forward. Maintaining the form and shape but moving to a mixture of black and silver to achieve an even higher positioning to meet the new market demands.

The Last Word

Since re-branding in 2006, Rural Stone has relocated its base from Margaret River to Perth. Rural Stone has increased their market share to the number 1 position in the Perth metropolitan area for suppliers of natural stone products.
