Little gardeners learn about growing
Fifty four little gardeners visited Foris Garden Centre last week to learn first hand just what can grow from a tiny seed., Pre primary students at Georgiana Molloy Anglican School have already been investigating ‘things that grow’ and have seeds planted in the sustainability garden at the school, plus their own garden centre in the classroom., At Foris, they planted seedlings and took a look around the nursery area at the different types of plants with the help of Foris Garden Centre owners Paul and Marina Carter., Teacher Fiona Black said “It’s great to go out into the community to places like Foris and for the children to relate their learning to what happens in ‘the real world’.”, Each child was presented with a small terracotta pot with their very own seedling to take home with them as well as a Foris ‘goodie bag’.
