Ok…so we might have totally missed 2019 #soz

In a year that seemed to fly by quicker than the Road Runner, we were so busy working on so many exciting projects that we didn’t have time to let everyone know most of the cool stuff we got up too.

So now that we’ve all recovered from the Christmas Pudding and seeing in the last moments of 2019, we’re all back and ready for 2020. But first…here’s a quick recap on some of the highlights in 2019 (can’t have you missing out now, can we!!)

JANUARY

We kicked off the start of last year with the continued campaign for Parcel’s Backyard Splash Campaign. A pool promotion with a twist, the campaign spread across digital, programmatic, native and radio advertising, as well as a host of creative signage across all of the participating Perth metro developments.

We also developed the Mosaic brand for Parcel Property – a new exciting land release in Balcatta.

BREC commissioned us to develop their Brand Story as part of our continued relationship. With such an amazing venue in the heart of the South West, we’ve been able to develop some really creative material with Jo and her team.

January also saw us kick off on the Strategic Planning of what is now known as Plico Energy. Brian, Mike and the team sat down with us and the journey began on creating a highly innovative and new approach to renewable and sustainable energy. More on that throughout the year!

FEBRUARY

Having worked with Ian and his family nearly a decade ago, Jack in the box had the opportunity to develop both the  Brand Story and Brand Evolution of Constructive PD. Based in both Perth and Bunbury, Constructive PD are revolutionising the way buildings and facades are created with the use of timber.

On the back of the strategic direction, we then began the Rename and Brand Architecture process for what would become Plico Energy.

MARCH

March saw us work with Cath and the team at Monty’s Place (formally Monty’s Day Spa) where we provided some clear direction with a Communication Plan as well as developing a Brand Evolution to help reposition the business. If you have a pooch in Busselton (or surrounds) you really have to go check this place out – it’s amazing!
The team was also making the most of the weather with a beautiful photoshoot for Beenyup Grove – another of Parcel Property’s land developments in the heart of Byford.
On the back of the work with the Plico Energy team, Jack in the box was also asked to develop the name and brand for its parent company, Starling Energy Group. At the same time, we were also madly creating and launching the brand new Plico website!

APRIL

Long time client, Bethany Funeral Home, worked with us on launching a new campaign in April across the Great Southern which included the running of the award winning TV Commercial we produced in 2018 along with new creative material across Billboards, Buses and Print.

We also had a blast working on the launch of the $2 Million Brightwood Adventure Park. Food vans, free coffee, face painting, fairy floss and live entertainment made for an amazing day. Parcel Property also had their Mobile Sales Office’s both there. If you haven’t seen these vans, they certainly make a statement!

MAY

In a mega milestone, we worked with Elliott’s on a 30 year identity to mark this special occasion.

We also launched a brand new website Monty’s Place which now includes an eCommerce store.

Earlier in the year, we began work with international company Chill Tech Global which resulted in the creation of not only a new brand for the company but the naming and Brand Architecture for their latest product – PhasLo – an innovative alternative to Dry Ice for the aviation industry.

JUNE

While many know BREC for it’s entertainment, events and conferences are also a really important part of what the venue offers. To give people an even better understanding of what is possible, we developed a Virtual Tour of the entire facility. This weaved perfectly into the new ‘Imagine’ brand statement piece that we completed earlier in the year.

Parcel Property acquired a new development called Jindowie (Located in Yanchep) in 2019 which required the team at Jack in the box to work on a Re-Launch. This necessitated working within the constraints of the existing brand and corporate style but finding creative ways to refresh the look and messaging. An early morning photoshoot in the brisk conditions of Yanchep provided some amazing new material along with a plethora of new signage to bring the development back into shape.

We also helped launch the South West’s newest storage facility in Sicura Storage. Developing the name and brand, we also assisted with promotional material, website and a small local campaign.
Having developed the branding for both Chill Tech Global and PhasLo earlier in the year, we also launched the first iteration of the new website for the company.

“Ohhhhh…we’re half way there…”

JULY

The start of the new financial year saw the launch of Parcel’s Great Outdoors Campaign. Providing incentive to buyers, the campaign provided a range of options to really create an amazing outdoor space for your new home. With the backyard often being the last thing on the list, budgets often mean that it’s a sandpit for longer than anyone would like. This clever promotion really sought to help people finish off their new homes.

Working continuously with Plico Energy, we produced a range of Campaign & Promotional Material that was release in July. Digital and Radio campaigns hit the market along with caps, flyers and stickers.

AUGUST

Having worked with Chris on a variety of things in the past, we had the opportunity to update the SoundPro website in August. With a wide range of services, the new site is easy for people to see what SoundPro offer and get in touch with Chris to discuss their needs.

The Development Team were also kept busy with the launch of the new Wespine website. After developing their internationally award winning brand, Jack in the box designed and developed the website along with a looped animation to demonstrate how Wespine grow and regenerate the plantations along with using 100% of the product.

SEPTEMBER

After countless discussions (usually over a few drinks at the FireStation) on how we could better assist business in understanding a range of legal issues around their brand and business, Lavan’s and Jack in the box developed the Brandaid Workshop Series. In September we ran Part 1 of a 3 Part Series in both Busselton and Bunbury. The success of the sessions has prompted ideas for 2020 which will also see Perth included in future workshops.
Things also got cranked up for Plico Energy with the release of their ‘Save your Energy’ Campaign. Born from an extensive workshop session here at ‘the box’, the combined teams have a full day session to work through a range of aspects of the communication. The results was a highly focused concept which subsequently has been rolling out ever since.

OCTOBER

In October we were approached to assist Office of Road Safety (in conjunction with Longreach Consulting) to develop 2 impactful billboards to fight fatigue on the Forrest Highway. Jack in the box created the ‘Big Question’ billboards which have featured along the highway throughout the festive season.

And in a long awaited competitive pitch process, Jack in the box was awarded the contract for a new campaign for the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development. While we can’t release any details at this stage, the team were all incredibly proud of this win as it a coup for a regional agency to be awarded a contract of this nature. Having already been out shooting material in Kalgoorlie and Bunbury, be sure to stay tuned for the campaigns release in early 2020.

Oh and we also conducted Part 2 of the Brandaid Workshops Series!

NOVEMBER

Having worked closely with Sue and the team at Community Home Care since earlier in the year, November saw Jack in the box complete and intensive Brand Story & Brand Architecture piece for the growing South West Not for Profit. An extensive discovery process and significant stakeholder engagement saw the development of a comprehensive plan and creation of a bold new look for the organisation.

This also required the development of a brand new website which would be launched at the same time as the brand was announced to a live audience in December! Talk about perfect timing.

All good things have to come to an end and we completed the third part of our Brandaid Workshops. As we said, the positive feedback and desire for more information will see both Lavan and Jack in the box do something in 2020 – stay tuned!

DECEMBER

And so the end of the year drew closer but we weren’t slowing down. We held the public launch of Community Home Care. Prior to this, CHC CEO, Sue Clements, and Jack in the box Director, Scott Robinson, did an ‘around the South West in 8hrs’ trip to launch the brand to all the staff and volunteer workers for Community Home Care. A critical aspect of the communication strategy, both CHC and Jack in the box wanted to ensure that all the team were included and involved. Conducting 4 presentations across Bunbury, Busselton, Collie and Donnybrook, the whirlwind trip ensured that nearly every member of the team had an opportunity to see the new brand before its public release.

Oh yeah…did we mention that we also released the Community Home Care website at the precise moment the brand was revealed? Nothing like perfect timing to impress a crowd!

We also added to the Jack in the box family with our Communications Planner, Victoria, giving birth to a beautiful baby girl! What a great Christmas present!

RIGHT…TAKE A BREATH!!!

While there is a massive amount of work that didn’t make the list, this is a brief (yeah…that’s brief!) snapshot of what we got up to in 2019.

We can’t wait for all the new and exciting adventures that 2020 has in-store. We are already working on some amazing projects which we can’t talk about yet but we’re busting to show the world.

Most importantly though, without our amazing clients – who trust us to develop their stories – we’d be nothing more than a creative bunch of people sitting in a ‘box’. So thank you for all your support and allowing us to continue to tell your stories.

Here’s to 2020 and we can’t wait to work with you!

P.S. If you’ve made it this far and you read the whole things…call us and Scott will take you for a beer!
