The Challenge

Bernier Pharmaceuticals was, quite literally, born in Doug Kelly’s garage. But he was no bootlegger. 

An experienced pharmacist with a mission to share the benefits of his recently-formulated B3 suncare product, he believed in and knew they worked. Now, all he needed was a label…or so he thought.

With a goal of reducing the appearance of sun damage, Bernier’s inaugural moisturiser SolarCareB3 was so much more than a skin and body product: it was scientifically-formulated, proven effective and affordable product that was created locally and ethically.

The Idea

thebox were more than happy to help a local business out with a label. But we saw something much more in Bernier. We got a glimpse into the future: an extended product line, massive potential for growth and global distribution.

Through researching the market and refining Bernier’s brand positioning as a ‘cosmeceutical’ company, we refreshed their brandmark and produced product packaging that exceeded their current one-product range, allowing them to imagine a bigger future for Bernier Pharmaceuticals.

Importantly, we wanted to set a strong foundation for the burgeoning brand to comfortably experience the growth that, with the right systems in place, we considered to be imminent.

The Solution

thebox delivered a brand and accompanying collateral that exuded both quality and expertise. It underpins the company’s mission to restore people’s comfort and confidence in their skin, specifically by reducing the appearance of sun damage.

Starting as a direct-to-consumer single-product line, Bernier now has an expanded product line while operating across Australasia with a robust network of stockists and wholesalers – and an ever growing list of customers who, through strategically-implemented growth and communication strategies, convert into Bernier loyalists.

As if a relationship dating back to 2015 doesn’t speak for itself, Bernier is more than a client to thebox: they are our partners and collaborators.

From expo signage to point-of-sale materials, to multiple website evolutions, digital and print advertising and comprehensive CRM implementation, thebox has worked on many projects with Bernier.
