The Challenge

When the Busselton Boulevard brand was created, it utilised triangles in various bright colours which gave it a fun and friendly look and feel. The target market being Busselton residents, young and old, have been shopping at The Boulevard for years, and the brand needed to reinforce the small community feel – especially as it was the first shopping centre to exist in Busselton!

The Idea

With the new renovations completed including the exterior of the Centre, as well as the floors and bathrooms, and the new branding up and running, a press campaign was developed to ensure communication to the Busselton public continued. Using the shapes and colours within the logo and brand elements, the design team at thebox could be as creative as they wished!

The Solution

A full page advertisement for Easter warned: “Don’t be Choco-Late!”. The triangles within the brand were used to create a fun animated drawing of the Easter Bunny. The advertisement to wish athletes good luck in the Busselton Jetty Swim shows the jetty and a swimmer, again made from these brand elements which had become so flexible in their use.

The Last Word

thebox’s design team continues to have fun designing these creative press advertisements. We are very fortunate to have VPG Property as a client who entrust us with their brand and allow the talents and thought processes of our team be utilised to their full potential.

The Award

thebox were awarded a BRONZE Summit Creative 2016 International Award for the campaign. The Summit Creative Awards recognise organisations internationally who excel in marketing initiatives.
