The Challenge
thebox were asked to develop a unique concept that would provide both the Brightwood Baldivis community with something exciting and different at Christmas along with driving new prospective buyers to the estate.
The Idea
With a market crowded with shopping centres full of decorations and Christmas Trees and streets filled with coloured, flashing lights, we needed something different to appeal to people at the busiest time of the year.
The centrepiece of the concept was the construction of a 6m wide inflatable Snow Globe. Complete with faux snow and LED lighting, it became a wonderland for children (and children at heart) to frolic inside a massive Snow Globe.
An initial ‘Resident Only’ trial was conducted 2 weeks before the main event to gauge interest and test a number of facets of the event. This alone attracted over 150 people from within the Brightwood community.
The Solution
Using material from the trial event, a punchy campaign was released through Social Media and a Facebook Event. Over 1,500 people registered their interest in the event in the first 5 days.
The Last Word
Crowds from surrounding suburbs and local family residents joined in on the festivities, enjoying a Sunday afternoon picnic while soaking up the afternoon breeze. Live music flowed through the park, echoed by the laughter of children and the chatter between family and friends.
The Giant Snow Globe was in high demand, as the main attraction for the day. Over 700 people, both young and old were lucky enough to have the chance to be a child again and play in the globe! We saw people queuing up with excitement and anticipation from 3.30pm right up until the event closed. The event was so popular, food vendors even ran out of food! We estimate over 1600 people attended the event over 3 hours (including Santa!) It was a fabulous opportunity for the Brightwood Land Sales team to capture an engaged market.
