The Challenge

With a significant shift in the fabric of the Not For Profit landscape, we see more and more organisations requiring quantum shifts in their operations and thinking.

Understanding this shift, Chrysalis Support Services and Women’s Health Resource Centre in Geraldton recognised the strength they could bring to both the community and their partners by merging and developing a singular approach to services in the Mid West.

Having already undergone a series of processes to develop a brand and facilitate the execution of the merger, the newly combined Board approached thebox to assist with a strategic approach and a range of creative solutions – but we had to act quickly.

The Idea

While a new name had been selected, the brand imagery that accompanied this was not reflective of the organisation. Merging two organisations is also much more complex than simply hanging a new shingle over the door. We used our extensive strategic and cultural expertise to assist the organisation to transition through this period, providing much more than just design services.

This also had significant impact upon the Mid West community as the service offering of Desert Blue Connect continues to be of high importance in rural and remote areas of our state.

The Solution

Beginning with a marketing and communications strategy, the team spent time in Geraldton understanding the two organisations and their common goals. Facilitating meetings with staff, board and executives, a strategic path was developed that culminated in a plan for both a series of internal and external communication mechanisms.

In harmony with this strategic work was the crafting and development of a new brand. A need to unite the two organisations while embracing the heritage of each was critical to the brands success and ultimately its acceptance by not only the board but the organisation as a whole, its stakeholders and the community.

thebox was also charged with the task of facilitating a unique team building day which included the brand reveal to all the members of the new Desert Blue Connect team.

This was followed by a coordinated Stakeholder Breakfast along with a large range of collateral for the brands release into the community including signage, pens, note pads, stickers, banners, table cloths and name badges.

A new website was also developed to communicate the full range of services now on offer

The Last Word

This was much more than a new brand for a Not for Profit. thebox was fortunate enough to be invited in at such an intimate level and given the ability to work closely with the executive team and board. This unique and very special relationship provided us with the opportunity to work on significant cultural aspects of the organisation and develop strategies and creative solutions which would help the organisations internal and external communications.

Please convey my unreserved appreciation to Vaughan. Looking forward to more amazing adventures together.

Thank you to infinity.”
