The Gascoyne Development Commission is the driving force behind economic and social development across one of Western Australia’s most distinctive regions – Carnarvon, Exmouth, Shark Bay and Upper Gascoyne. Their purpose is to connect communities, industry and the environment, and they do it well. What they needed was a visual presence that could keep up.

They had a solid brand and a clear sense of who they were, but no consistent Corporate Style to carry it across their documents, socials and digital presence. So we started where we always do: with a discovery session to understand what they actually needed, and who they needed to reach.

The Corporate Style came first. We looked to the Gascoyne itself for direction – a colour palette drawn from sky, water, flora and earth, and a set of custom textured line elements that echo the flow of rivers, waves and the country around them. For icons, we developed a practical application approach using texture to bring visual consistency across a wide variety of subject matter. The full brand kit and assets were set up in Adobe Express so their team can continue creating collateral in-house, confidently and consistently.

The Website followed, again starting with a Discovery Session to ensure we had a solid understanding of what the Gascoyne Development Commission needed. Built on WordPress, it was designed to serve a genuinely broad audience, from State Government, Local Shires and industry, as well as the Community, without overwhelming any of them. The structure and navigation make it simple to get a quick answer or go further into detail if you need to. The textured line elements carry through as section breaks, tying the digital experience directly back to the Corporate Style. Most of the Gascoyne Development Commission’s real work happens face to face; the website’s job is to make sure people know where to come when they need support. Now they have somewhere worth sending them.

“We’re really happy with the result, it has been incredibly refreshing working with your team. I think the Discovery element at the start really set up the process well and then having your design touch and technical skills working together. The Website is accessible and user-friendly so it ticks all the boxes!”
