More than snails and meatpies

Well last night was the official opening of the inaugural CinéfestOZ French Australian Film Festival and what a night it was. Having been heavily involved with the festival since its conception early on in 2008, the Jack in the box team were elated to find the Ace Cinema packed with enthusiastic guest and film enthusiasts for the official opening cocktail party.

With wonderful live French music and guest speakers including Barry House MLA and the French Ambassador, the festival opened with an incredible atmosphere. The film to follow was no disappointment either. The Black Balloon captivated the audience and even gained a round of applause as the credits rolled.

Many stayed on to enjoy an Q+A with the writer Jimmy Jack and then enjoyed more of the French sound at the Vasse Bar Cafe better known across CinéfestOZ as the Festival Club. Many danced into the night including many of the Jack in the box team.

CinéfestOZ runs from September 3 to 7, 2008.
