With the biggest V8 event of the year ( Bathurst), came the biggest and most anticipated launch of 2009…the Blue Meanie!

Having been involved with HDT for over 12 months now, Jack in the box were proud to witness the evolution and re-birth of an Australian Motoring icon.

Working closley with HDT over the past 3 months, Jack in the box designed and developed a range of material to launch the beast including a Photoshoot, Press Advertisements, T-Shirts, Temporary Tattoo’s, Banners, Competition Forms and a dedicated webite.

The site ( www.bluemeanie.com.au) began with a countdown to the unveiling which took place in the Supercheap Auto Trackside Store. Bev Brock was there to assist Company Director Peter Champion unveil the vehicle to a crowd of buzzing motorheads and press.

Within hours of the launch, the site had received thousands of hits along with the main website seeing a 500% increase in traffic.

For me, the press advertisment said it all – “No matter who wins Bathurst on Sunday, there’s only one car they’ll be talking about on Monday” .

And that’s been exactly the case ever since.

With magazines and motoring authors all scrambling for a chance to feature the Blue Meanie in their next publication.

Public reaction has also been strong with a number of orders being placed over the Bathurst weekend. Infact one customer saw the advertisment, drove from Sydney to Bathurst and purchased an admission ticket to the race just to see the car!!
