There’s something about shocking people that I just can’t get over. I’m not sure if it’s just the look on their face or perhaps the achievement of walking that thin line between crazy and insane genius. Speeches are usually the most common place for me to explore this most expressive side of myself and none more ‘out there’ than last week when I got down and dirty at Caves House.

As the Design Partner for Cow Parade Margaret River, we took the opportunity to speak to fellow sponsors and supporters about how to maximise their sponsorship. It was more or less about stimulating people to do more than just hand over money but to engage with the contribution they had made and actually maximise it rather than just expect a ROI off a logo on a poster.

In true Jack in the box style, I couldn’t help but look for a way to reinforce my points while creating a most memorable experience.

We achieved this by presenting everyone with a bag of poo. That’s right folks…a little bag of cow poo!

Of course we all know that when you actually apply poo it can be a highly effective fertiliser and can assist in making things grow! It was very symbolic and helped to tie up the presentation nicely.

Not leaving anything to chance though, we included a special brochure in each person’s show pack which had a trowel printed on it that could be cut out and used as a ‘ pooper scooper‘. What more could you ask for?

At the end of the day, every sponsorship deal is about the same thing…return on investment. Finding innovative ways to maximise your sponsorship is vital in today’s market. Gone are the days where your logo on a community project flooded your doors with new business simply because you were a bunch of great guys.

It’s about goals, engagement and innovation.

If you’re looking for ideas on how to maximise your sponsorship dollars, then come and see us. We have a truck load of poo inside ‘the box’ just waiting be turned into fertiliser!
