Nothing drives me more insane than lack of data. Continual performance assessment and the starting point for any strategy is research. Research can be made very difficult if there is no data to dissect. The little things consumers say, the amount of people coming through the door, the number of phone calls and outcomes are all important in determining the current state and direction of a business.
I have been very fortunate over the last 6 months or so to be involved in The Orange Seed Project, the project is the clever collaboration between Jack in the box and The West Australian. The two businesses have joined forces to help WA not for profit organisations grow and develop, therefore giving them the ability to help more people. Being involved at ground level has meant I have been able to experience these organisations first hand, and the truly remarkable people we have in Western Australia.
Alan Jones! Considering recent events I’m guessing the majority of readers have by now screwed up their noses.
I’m sure you all know the name and the recent comments he has made about PM Gillard. This crude comment has ignited passion, disgust and anger causing the public to air their feelings via social media and email.
These days it is imperative that recruitment is included under a company’s marketing umbrella. Gaining and retaining the ‘right’ staff is an art and one that takes strategy and creativity. The labor market is demanding advertisements and practices that will reach out and grab the people who will fit harmoniously within an organisation.
