I love an innovative new advertising idea, and feel it is my duty to tell you all about it. The other week I stumbled across ‘walking billboards’ and have fallen in love with the idea. Not only are they innovative and effective, but extremely affordable. To me, that’s a winning combination.
Expos, trade shows and exhibits… there is one for just about every industry in every capital city in the state. For some companies, it forms the core of their marketing activities for the year. The ways that organisations showcase themselves at such events vary immensely – some have a trestle table with a few brochures, where as others seem to create a whole new world in their exhibit space. If expos and events are important for building your business, but your display needs a bit of special attention, keep reading…
A very wise man (who, fortunately for me, sits next to me every day) once said to me that staff shouldn’t wear a ‘uniform’, but a ‘costume’ for their daily ‘performance’; borrowed from Disneyland and their unique modus operandi. Let me ask you – do you and your staff wear a uniform, or a costume?
Yet another item on the spring cleaning list that is often forgotten by organisations is how they look from the inside. What do employees see each day when they arrive? How have you created the space to be distinctively yours? Instead, here are a few suggestions to inject a bit of creativity and hopefully inspire you to do something about your ice cream truck music.
This is part one of a series of blog entries focusing on spring cleaning – your business that is. Does your business need a tidy-up? Are you paying attention to your one percenters? Is there a few areas you just ‘haven’t got around to doing yet’? Well here’s my nudge in the right direction – this week focusing on email signatures and how important they are in overall business image and communications.
It’s remarkable how much things can change in the span of a few years. I’ve heard so many comments that companies are experiencing a huge influx of unsolicited job applications or requests. CV’s and resumes that were so hard to come by only 2-3 years ago, are now flooding in from all corners of the world. I also believe some of the rise in popularity of company Facebook and Twitter pages have been due to the increase in job searchers in the market. All of this poses an interesting question – should a company ever stop managing its employer brand?
